EUROPEAN HOT CHOCOLATE HEAVEN When you go to Europe you discover hot chocolate (or "drinking chocolate") as it's meant to be--dark, rich and thick. Yet I'd basically given up on having good hot chocolate in the LA -- until I went to Lady Chocolatt today. The charming, old-fashioned shop has a wide selection of Belgian chocolates of all kinds. Then, in the back, you can order hot chocolate: their classic (a mix of 50-70%), their extra dark (70%) and other varieties I didn't notice because I was too focused on the "Extra dark" 70%! Next, it's run by the owners who clearly love making chocolate and bringing it to us chocolate-deprived Angelinos! It's rare to get this kind of personal touch at any shop these days, but in the case of chocolate it makes you feel like a guest at a the home of expert chocolatiers! They have patio seating in front--and also a more covered patio along the side that's a sweet place to sit, sip and chat. A European cafe like experience right here in LA. The hot chocolate is very rich, so even the "small" size (an extremely generous 12oz) is probably more than you'll drink in a sitting, in which case they offer to put it in a to go cup so you can take it

Absolutely love the hot chocolate at Lady Chocolatt! Itβs one of the best places for drinking chocolate in SoCall. Marlon and his mother are truly gracious, kind, and welcoming. The chocolates are from Belgium and come in very unique flavors - it's always interesting to see what's available. Their warm hospitality makes every visit a lovely experience, and youβll find yourself driving down to Lady Chocolatt whenever youβre in LAβyou wonβt regret it!

They serve the best hot chocolate in town! I'm truly impressed by how smooth and delicate their chocolates are, melting smoothly as it sits in your mouth. This has become my favorite chocolatier, and whenever a craving hits, I happily travel just to enjoy their delicious hot chocolates and Belgian chokies - I love, love the fact that we have this here at Santa Monica, just around town!

A little gorgeous Belgian chocolate shop by the busy Wilshire Boulevard. I used to stay literally less than a mile away, but never got a chance to pay a visit, partly because I only noticed its existance approaching my last day but also they didn't open on Sunday and closed by late afternoon no weekday. Wondering around the area this New Year's Eve brought my feet finally to its front door! Plenty of street parking in front, but as I was about to park, the florist sharing the same patio with the chocolate shop told me to just go to the back for free parking (call it my lucky day!). The shop literally looked like those classic long-standing one, which stayed cute across ages. There's nice semi open-air patio by the side to just chill over a cup of hot chocolate. I went for their Classic Hot Chocolate, which I indeed have been eyeing. It's a mixed of 5x% and 7x% chocolate melted in heavy cream; so yeah it's super thick and rich, just flawless for this chilly winter. I went for their 12oz and the super friendly guy behind the counter did mention he could gimme a to-go cup if I couldn't finish it since it was indeed filling. He said many people brought the remaining for to-go, put it

Iβve visited this store so many times and realized I have not give them a review here. They have such a delicious array of chocolates and figurines (for Valentines, Christmas, Easter...) I have tried so many flavors and love the surprises in each. They look so pretty too! Perfect for gifting or bringing something to a dinner or party with friends :) Talk about eye candy β€οΈ
